HSM C-hooks for Mastercam v9 and X
Attention:
HSM Performance Pack 3 has been
released and is available
here.
You must have a valid license to run
HSM Performance Pack for Mastercam and Adaptive Clearing for Mastercam.
You
can only run the C-hooks which are specifically activated by your
license.
System
requirements
Windows NT 4 Service Pack 6a, Windows
2000 Service Pack 3, or
Windows XP Service Pack 1 (or later)
minimum 256Mb RAM (recommended 1024Mb)
minimum 256Mb paging file (recommended 1024Mb)
Mastercam version 9.1 or Mastercam X
Installation
HSM Performance Pack for Mastercam
- Download the zip-archive and unpack the msi-file.
- Login as an administrator.
- Install Windows Installer 2.0 if the system is running Windows NT
4 or Windows 2000 without SP3 or later.
- Uninstall any previous version of the C-hook before build 96.
- Install the previously downloaded msi file. If you choose the
default settings the
module will be installed under "Mastercam HSM Performance Pack"
within the "Program Files" folder.
If the installation didn't detect one
or more of your Mastercam v9 installations you also have to complete
the
following steps. These steps are normally not required. You will get a
warning during regeneration of a HSM operation if these steps are
required.
- Start the C-hook named "hsm.dll" from the installation folder
(e.g. "C:\Program Files\Mastercam HSM Performance Pack") by
pressing Alt+C when Mastercam is running. The C-hook will copy the
necessary files to the
Mastercam C-hook folder.
- Start the C-hook named "hsm.dll" from the Mastercam C-hook folder
hence forth.
It is highly recommended that you
install the MCutils C-hook for Mastercam v9. This
C-hook allows you to start the HSM C-hook directly from the operation
manager.
You can set up a HSM tool bar in Mastercam X using the
Mastercam customization function which is
available by right-clicking
on the tool bar. HSM specific functions can be added to the tool bar of
choice when the HSM C-hook has been properly installed The
available functions are listed under the "HSM - CIMCO Integration"
category.
Adaptive Clearing for Mastercam
Please note that this C-hook is not for
use with HSM Performance Pack for Mastercam licenses.
- Download the zip-archive and unpack the msi-file.
- Login as an administrator.
- Install Windows Installer 2.0 if the system is running Windows NT
4 or Windows 2000 without SP3 or later.
- Install the previously downloaded msi file. If you choose the
default settings the
module will be installed under "Adaptive Clearing for Mastercam"
within the "Program Files" folder.

C-hook tool bar in Mastercam X using the
Mastercam customization function which is
available by right-clicking
on the tool bar. Adaptive Clearing specific functions can be added to
the tool bar of
choice when the Adaptive Clearing C-hook has been properly
installed The
available functions are listed under the "Adaptive - CIMCO Integration"
category.
License
Before you can generate any toolpaths,
you must first register the HSM Performance Pack for Mastercam license
file
which you should have received from your reseller or
distributor. The license file can be selected from the About dialog
available through the HSM
menu. The same applies for Adaptive Clearing for Mastercam.
If you have received a floating license
you must skip this step and instead activate "Connect to license
manager" on the licensing page within the preferences dialog. You may
be required to restart
Mastercam to force the new settings to take efftect. If you choose a
floating license from the About dialog you will get an error message. A
floating license can only be used with the CIMCO License Manager which
must be installed separately. The installation for CIMCO License
Manager should accompany the installation for the add-in.
